Chill out music emerged in the early 90’s as a catch-all term for various styles of relatively ambient, meditative, trippy, beatless or slow-tempo music made by contemporary producers in the electronic music scene (Klf, The Orb or Mixmaster Morris, Dj Morpheus). The term “Chill out music” originated in chill out rooms that were set up in the big raves, at the edge the edge of club dance floors to give the public a chance to take a break from the hecticness. This playlist gives a taste of that. Now chill the f out.
